Our number one favorite is monday.com, though Asana and nTask are hot on its heels. We also have a few other project management tools that make the cut, thanks to specific functions they perform extremely well. Wrike has excellent reporting, while Trello is the best kanban app.


The first four are powerful all-round tools that are good for almost any job, while we picked Trello as it has a great upgrade system that lets you integrate it with almost any other app, and for free too.


Our third pick is probably the best for Mac users on a budget, not an uncommon problem for Apple fans. nTask is the best cheap project management tool out there, even with the recent removal of its free plan. For larger teams, only Bloo is cheaper, and even then not by much (read all about our favorite upstart in our Bloo review).

Always at the office - any software on this list will do.

While MS Project is incompatible with MacOS, you still have options for using Microsoft Project on your Mac. Like most Microsoft-designed software, this particular tool was built specifically for Windows devices.
